The owner of one of Nashville's tastiest exports, Gigi's Cupcakes, is
battling back after suffering a financial blow at the hands of
mother nature. Standing water from heavy rains are being blamed for
a roof collapse at Gigi's original location on Broadway in Midtown. Gigi Butler tells Fox 17 News she had taken her 2-year-old to the car
minutes before the roof fell in.
While repairs are being made
Gigi and her staff are serving their custom made cupcakes from a new
food truck in the parking lot. The treats are being baked at the
company's Brentwood location and trucked over to Midtown.
customers don't seem to mind. Fox 17 spoke to three women who drove in
from the Memphis area Friday to see Gigi's original location as part of a
shared birthday celebration. The women applaud Gigi's efforts to serve
her customers after suffering damage to her building. They got to meet
Gigi in person, and left the store's parking lot saying "this was the
best birthday ever."
NOTE: Until repairs are complete, we'll be serving cupcakes out of our cupcake truck from 10 am - 5 pm each day.
